We interviewed Dr. Hubert Ho, a professor of Music Theory and Composition here at Northeastern. Along with teaching these classes, he conducts research in education as well as the intersection between music, math, and physics. This interdisciplinary research mainly deals with issues of timbre and tries to influence talk about psychoacoustics and music theory.

Research shows there are clear emotional and cognitive benefits to having music education early on in our lives. So much so that music education in youth has been associated with enhanced processing of visual and spatial information, greater literacy, improved ability to learn a second language, academic achievement, and resilience.
